The Schott KL 300 LED Light Source uses cold light to illuminate all objects in industrial and life science applications. It is an attractive alternative to conventional halogen cold light sources. The KL 300 LED is innovative and can be mounted to any microscope stand or used as a stand-alone illumination device. The KL 300 LED combines all the advantages of LED light with illumination through fiber optics: All types of light guides in the KL 200 series can be connected to the KL 300 LED. This allows complete flexibility to realize all standard illumination techniques. The dimming control is ergonomically placed to the right of the focus control on the microscope. The LED light engine has a long lifetime of at least 50,000 hours. It is maintenance-free for the user and thus avoids service and downtime costs. The ripple-free illumination is perfect for digital imaging applications. Unlike traditional Halogen-based light sources, The color temperature of 5600K Neutral white light does not change when the light source is dimmed.
The ability to mount to a vertical post on a boom stand or a column on a table stand means no big box takes up valuable table space like a traditional fiber optic illuminator. The brightness is equivalent to a 30-watt halogen cold light source. Therefore, it is optimized as a standard illumination system for the requirements of routine stereo microscopes, such as those found on the assembly line or the production floor, in a quality control setting. Like all KL light sources, the KL 300 LED is designed for a wide range of power supply (100-240 V; 50-60 Hz). It has been approved and certified as laboratory equipment and complies with the CE regulations.
While not as bright as a traditional 150w Halogen light source, there is plenty of illumination for printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, and medical device inspection.
